Infill Thinking recently named Pronghorn Logistics a Last Mile “Ninja” to watch in 2019
A November To Remember For Pronghorn Logistics
Founded in Denver last year, Pronghorn Logistics assists E&Ps with all facets of the frac sand supply chain from the mine to the wellhead. They are active in the Bakken and MidCon now and will soon be working in the Powder River Basin (more on that in a moment).
Several new developments at Pronghorn this month signal momentum building into 2019 for the firm and their value proposition in our view.
First, Pronghorn recently recruited a key new hire. After our channel checks indicated that Michael Mesrobian joined the firm as VP of business development, we confirmed this fact with Pronghorn management. If you’ve spent any time at all working in this sector, you probably don’t need an intro to Michael. He invested the past four years working in the Hi-Crush braintrust focused on corporate strategy and logistics. We see the recruitment of this executive as a strong addition to the Pronghorn team as Michael’s talent in this space is held in high regard.
Second, Pronghorn just announced a big contract win. On Monday morning, the company press released that they have won the job of assisting Chesapeake with frac sand management, logistics, and wellsite services for the operator’s Powder River Basin frac activity. Recall that Chesapeake recently moved to unbundle their supply chain, signing a long-term supply agreement on their own for the first time.
We see the combination of these two positive developments as business model validation for Pronghorn’s brand and their value proposition in logistics facilitation.
